Infographics and data visualization

One of my current areas of focus is learning more about visual storytelling, infographics, data visualization, and more in-depth quant data analysis. I’ve started that journey by taking an introductory course at RISD on Information Graphics, and y’all, I really think this space is my jam. It’s the perfect combination of analytical and creative. I love it.

One of the things I really tried to with this body of work was explore different visual styles to stretch my versatility as a designer. While I’m still very much in the beginning stages of this journey, I’m excited to keep learning and growing.

Here are few things I worked on (and yes, I may have overindexed on Australia because I’m incredibly excited to have just moved there):

This is an infographic I created about a very Australian food - Vegemite. I used the company’s brand colors, as well as the most similar fonts I could find.

The assignment here was to create a map-based infographic. I had initially thought of doing something really illustrative, like “sites to see along Great Ocean Road,” but ultimately decided on a more utilitarian style.
